In Cyprus, you can enjoy a mixture of sun and sea. This marvellous island is best known for its beaches and active nightlife. 

In addition to the brilliant sunshine, clear blue sea and white sandy beaches, you can also enjoy beautiful little mountain hamlets, secluded monasteries and amazing scenery in Cyprus. The Kykkos Monastery is one of the monasteries you certainly must visit. It is high in the mountains and is decorated with wall paintings that are several metres in height. 

Cyprus also offers impressive scenery. Seventy per cent of the island is wooded. Along the coast, there are a large number of marshes, which are ideal overnight resting places for thousands of flamingos. Green turtles lay their eggs on the beaches of Lara Bay. The eggs of this threatened species are well protected and the nesting sites are closed to tourists.
