More than just desert 

Morocco has much to offer: modern cities, mediaeval mountain villages, green woods, scorching deserts, skiing and magnificent pearl-white beaches.

Situated in the extreme north west of Africa, Morocco is very close to Europe. Spain and Morocco are separated by the Strait of Gibraltar, which is barely 12 kilometres wide. Morocco has a coastline of 2,500 kilometres on the Atlantic and 450 kilometres on the Mediterranean. In Morocco, you can visit a large number of palaces and fortresses that have played a part in Morocco’s sometimes bloody history. 

The souks, or markets, are an important part of everyday life in Morocco. As these markets are ideal meeting places, people not only visit them to buy goods. Markets are always held in the morning and you must always haggle to make sure that you do not pay too much for your souvenirs.
