Ethiopia, officially the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, is bordered by Eritrea to the north, Sudan to the west, Kenya to the south, Somalia to the south-east and Djibouti to the north-east.
It's one of the oldest countries in the world and Afica's second-most populous nation. Ethiopia is historically very important in the human evolution. Recent studies claim that the area around present-day Addis Ababa was the point from which human beings migrated around the world.
Ethiopia is an ecologically diverse country, ranging from the deserts along the eastern border to the tropical forests in the south to extensive Afromontane in the northern and southwestern parts.
